A Topograpgical Overview Map of our Cayuga Paddling Route on the Grand River

The Cayuga Route is a 13 km long paddle. It takes about 4 to 5 hours. The river averages about 1 meter in depth with no fast rapids. It is about 50 meters wide. The river flows through a scenic forested setting with fresh drinking springs along the way.

There are many wild birds along the route. It is not a muddy river but has a visible stone bottom. There are no poisonous snakes and no biting insects while out on the river. There are lots of fish and wildlife... but seeing them is a challenge.

There are spots where you can stop for a picnic lunch... even a barbeque pit with an outhouse washroom. The river is safe to swim in but wear your shoes/sandals.

Drink from springs... paddle through wilderness... view Carolinian wildlife... learn aboriginal history
