The "Grand" experiences of Grand River Rafting Company offers learning adventures on lost arts and other unique interests.
Our learning adventures range from interactive powwow dancing to moonlight star paddles.
Grand River Rafting is located about one hour west of Toronto... near Paris, Ontario.

Below is our list of unique learning adventures for you to discover!
The Art of Flintknapping... This is the art of making primitive stone tools. Our instructor will show how arrowheads are made... with the toolage that the First Nations of the Grand Valley would have used.
The Primitive Art of Cordage & Fire Starting... experience learning how to make rope from local plants and starting fires without matches.
First Nations Iroquoian Experiences of the Grand River ... this is what we consider the "Grand Experience of Experiences"! The unique opportunity to try dancing and singing with the Iroquois of the Six Nations.
Tree Identification & Edible Plants... the Grand Valley is in the Carolinian Forest and offers a vast array of flora & fauna to see and identify. Enjoy the experience of easily learning plants with teaching staff.
The Star Gazers Drift ... this night paddle on the Grand offers the chance to learn the constellations while you paddle at night. We also offer guided full moon paddles by raft, canoe and kayak.
The Night Safari ... this is a night of calling coyotes... calling in owls... and a stakeout to draw in the moth beauties of the night with a local naturalist.
Insect and Butterfly Hiking Classroom... A hike where you learn about butterflies, beetles and other insects of the Grand Valley with a local entomologist.
Algonquin Canoe Trip Planning School ... Want to paddle Algonquin? This is a 5 hr course preparing people for wilderness canoe tripping. The course covers canoeing, portaging, map reading & planning, how to pack & foods, setting up camp and emergency "smarts".

The Painter's Drift... try our floating art classroom... this program is for those interested in painting landscapes of the Grand Valley with artist/instructor Jeanette Obbink.
Learn How to Fish... if you have never fished before or wish to upgrade your skills... then this is the course.
Fly Fishing School for Beginners ... learn the art of fly fishing, this fly fishing instruction on a river makes the sport easy to learn... a 5-6 hour instruction course.
Spey Casting School for Beginners... the Grand is the perfect place to experience the art of how to spey cast... both single and double handed. This is a 6-8 hour course.
Learn How to Canoe & Kayak ... Paddle into the beauty of the Grand River... do an instructional paddling course while being guided down the Grand River.
Float and Fly Adventure ... two experiences in one! Spend a weekend in southern Ontario rafting the Grand River... then visit our friends at Lake Erie to zipline the tree tops.
