Details of the Mohawk Route.

Guided Grand River fishing trips for trout, smallmouth bass, pickerel, pike and mooneye on the Mohawk run from Brant Conservation to Cockshutt bridge.

This section does allow the use of live bait, and there are no restrictions on barbs.

There are some very long deep holes of still water... thus the presence of pickerel.

There are mooneye from here down... the Wilkes dam prevents them from moving upstream.

This section also has a pair of bald eagles nesting and Osprey... spotting them as they soar through the valley is an unexpected highlight.

If weather is bad or if the river blows out we will contact you and tell you to pick another day or refund your deposit.

Map of Mohawk Route on the Grand River ...about 13 km

The Mohawk Route has everything from shallow crossings to long 2-3 meter deep pools. It also has a couple of sections with deep swifts. The river is about 50-75 meters wide.

There are shallow spots where the rafts need to be walked through.

If time is a limit, shorter trips can be accommodated.

This section runs through the city of Brantford... but inspite of that... still offers a serene wilderness setting.

There are few biting bugs on the river... making this an excellent evening fish for pickerel.

The river averages 1 meter in depth with 2 meter deep swimming spots... about 50 meters wide.

Price: $350.00 for two people. Include 4-5 hours of guided platform fishing, river shuttle service, Tripper lunch. If an additional child is added, the cost is $60.00. Taxes not included.
