Other Grand Experiences in the Grand Valley

Grand River Rafting Company is still a best kept secret for a soft adventure, fun-filled day in the sun near Toronto. (about 1hr 15 mins away) This is my third time to float with them down the Grand. Kayaking is my favourite, but we did a family group trip with some members who are a little uncomfortable on the water. So we did a raft/kayak combo float. Everyone had a blast.

Garth is the owner and is a very laid back, kind, interesting, "have it your way" kind of guy. We made several stops of interest along the way to learn a bit about nature. We drank from a cold fresh spring and visited an old mine shaft. This river is very scenic, clean, and shallow, so even if you flip, you can likely stand up. Great place to learn to kayak too. We even got to body surf in a shallow, but swift moving section of the water. Laughs and giggles all the way down. All safe and smile making as you delight in this nearby adventure.

CAUTION: Be sure to book with GARTH from Grand River Rafting...  there is another company of similar name, but in my opinion, GARTH is so detailed, punctual and accommodating, that I would not go with anyone but his company. You know he does it right if we've come back with friends and family again and again. A great place to make memories.

(PS: They have great pirate trips for young kids b-day parties, as well as moonlight floats, etc. A lot of excursions to pick from. We love to take out of town company there for a safe, but adventurous outing.) After the float, you can pop into historic Paris for a meal or ice cream. Excellent day trip. VERY affordable.
