Women Fly Fishing Course Toronto Grand River

 Learn the Art of Fly Fishing in the setting of the Grand River Valley


This is a beginner's fly fishing course for women and teenage girls.

The school is located near Paris 1 hour west of Toronto on the Grand River.

This 6 hour course on fly fishing gives any beginner the fly fishing skills to start.

This beginner fly fishing course is from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

It is held in a wilderness setting on the section of the Grand River called "Trout Alley".

The equipment you need is: your lunch, hat, sunglasses and chest waders if spring/fall conditions. You can bring your own fly rod if wanted.

The instructor supplies the rods/reels and instruction.

For minimum age is 13 years and up.

Note: Youth 13 to 15 years require adult accompaniment.

This course is also for adults new to the sport.

Maximum number in a course is eight people... but larger group can be accompanied with additional instructors... provided we have advance notice.

Mike your instructor has fished all the streams... the Nith, Big Creek, Whitemans Creek, the Grand and others. Learn from someone who knows the local areas and what to expect.

A Complete Introduction to Fly Fishing

Have you ever dreamed of standing on the edge of a river, silently casting a hand tied fly to an unsuspecting fish?

This course gives youth and adults a complete introduction to the fly fishing experience.

Our goal is to simplify fly fishing techniques and demystify the sport as well as create a fun learning environment where all questions have merit.

Outline of Course Material

·        Background introduction to fly fishing and equipment

·        Instruction on efficient casting techniques

·        Learning proper body movement as not to cause wear and tear on your body

·        Most important, provide techniques to catch fish.  This will include dry flies, nymphing, streamers and swinging.

·        What equipment to buy... "Is equipment to catch the fish? ... Or is equipment to capture the fisherman?"
