We raft the Nith River from the end of March until the end of May.
It can only be rafted after spring melt when there is lots of water. It is a narrow river of pools and swifts and only about 1 meter deep. Near the end of the trip the river has a signifigant elevation drop offering about 1 km of fun splash with waves 2-3 ft high. An excellent beginner and family splash paddle.
Wet suits are not required but splash protection gear is given to the two people in the front of the raft.
We also offer an easy fun splash from April to October on the Grand River with our Guided Oneida Trip.
The Nith can be rafted during the summer and fall after a heavy rain. For those wishing a summer or fall whitewater experience please visit our River-Rat Club for more information.
On this trip we meet in Paris... shuttle you upstream... and you paddle back to your vehicle.
The Nith River winds through an amazing 15 km section of wilderness beauty with towering cliffs and quietness.
Price: $270 for up to six people on our 3-5hr guided April to May rafting trips. Includes guide, raft, paddles, life jackets, return shuttle ride for 6, taxes not included. Extra people beyond the six are $45 plus tax each, space providing.
River Lunch: We stop along the river to have lunch and supply waterproof lunch coolers. You can bring your own lunch or we can offer our Tripper Lunch. It includes a large fresh wrap stuffed with your choice of turkey, beef, ham, chicken, veggie or Chicken Caesar… plus homemade butter tart or large cookie, fruit and juice/pop/water. Cost is $14 each with tax included.
The Rafts: Top quality whitewater rafts made by Aire. They are self-bailing, multi chambered, stable & safe. These 5 meter rafts have floating floors that easily seat 6 people plus! They are like sitting around a big kitchen table.
Our Guides: Our guides spend the day with you... the way they would with friends. They deliberately customize the trip to help you explore & experience as much of the river as possible.
