The Oneida-Cayuga paddle on the Grand River is about 24 km.
This trip starts at Glen Morris and goes to Paris where there is a 100 meter portage around the Paris Dam ( you move your boat up a stairway to the top of the bank... about 18 steps)... and then continue paddling another 12 km downstream to the Brant Conservation Area.
Portage at the Paris Dam...you have to move your boat up a set of steps!
This Oneida Cayuga trip only has one start time because of the length.
Trips start at 9am on weekdays and 8:50am on weekends... about a 45 min shuttle with a stop at Paris
You park your vehicle at the Brant Park Conservation Area... and then we shuttle you up to Glen Morris... and you paddle back to your vehicle.
Most paddlers take 6 hours to complete.
If in trouble there is a rail trail on the left side running parallel to the river.
A view of our picnic and washroom area just past the Three Sisters
There are washrooms at the start in Glen Morris, washrooms at the Three Sisters, washrooms near the portage in Paris and the end point.
This section has numerous small rapids between Glen Morris and Paris... and after Paris becomes more of a leisure paddle.
