If you are interested in learning about the history and culture of the Haudenosaunee people… then visit Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Twenty minutes from Paris. 

Visit the Iroqraft Gift Shop (25 mins away) near Ohsweken. This Haudenosaunee store of art, gifts and craft supplies is a refreshing break from trinket-tourism. If interested in books, art and culture of the Six Nations... make this a destination.

Bike & Hike the Rail Trail 

The rail trail is a bike/hike trail going from Cambridge to Hamilton. Paris & Glen Morris are two of the access points. This is a level trail along the river… easy to do in most parts. Five minutes from downtown Paris.



Pinehurst Lake  This kettle lake and surrounding Carolinian Forest is worth the time to visit and hike… just 10 minutes from Paris. 


Apps Mill  This trail area is only 15 minutes from Paris… a refreshing hike along Whiteman’s Creek… a beautiful wooded valley experience. 


Port Burwell Submarine... this 100 meter, 5 story-high sub was used by the Canadian Military during the Cod War. This Soviet hunting sub, called the Ojibwa, offers tours inside the submarine... definitely worth seeing.



 Port Dover

This fishing village on Lake Erie is one hour from Paris and has become the place to visit… stroll the sand beach or have supper at Callahan’s overlooking the lake at sunset. A favorite spot to experience… worth the 1 hour drive.
