About the Grand River

The Grand River averages 1 meter in depth with a lazy slow moving current... great for non-swimmers and children.

In the year 2000, the Grand River won the award in Australia as the best managed river in the world... there are spots where you can stop and go swimming!

There is a good chance of seeing bald eagles and osprey on the river. There are no poisonous snakes or biting insects on this river.

About the Turbo Tubes

The turbo tubes are like sitting in a lazy-boy chair. These tubes have a closed floor, a back rest and a padded seat to sit on. These tubes are very stable and difficult to tip. Even if you have never paddled ...before you can do this!

Snaps are provided for parents wishing to attach their children behind them. With the tube each person gets a life jacket and a paddle. Suggested for 3 years and up.

For those wishing to journey down the river with children 3 years and younger... there will be a family raft available... but please let us know.

About the Turbo Tubing Paddling Route

The tubing trip is 4.5 kilometers in length... it takes most people 1.5 to 2 hours to do. You are paddling downstream with the current. The trip drifts through an amazing forest landscape and ends at the Brant Conservation Area. The takeout point is well flagged and easy to see and get off at.

There will be safety guides in kayaks along the river to insure everyone is safe.

After arriving, the Grand River Rafting staff will help you out and gather up your equipment. You will then proceed to the shuttle bus... from there be driven back to the picnic area where you started... to change and enjoy the food.

What to Wear for Turbo Tubing

Dress to get wet with clothes or bathing suits that easily dry... denimin pants is not a good idea! Have a chenge of clothes in your car for when you get back.

Wear footwear that can get wet... barefeet are not allowed.

Bring hats, sunglasses, good sunscreen... if wearing glasses have strings attached to your glasses. If fair skinned... we suggest tubing with long sleeved shirts and pants for protection form the sun.

If bringing your phones for taking pictures along the way... we sugest double zip-lock bags.

Grand River Rafting Waiver

The Grand River Rafting Company requires all participants to sign a waiver before Turbo Tubing. Below is the risk waiver that you must read before tubing... you must sign off agreeing to the waiver before entering the water. The waiver signing will be done before entering the water on the day of the event.
